2º BRITISH: Infographic - Artists from the Renaissance

Your new task is about creating an infogrpahic but, first of all, what is an infographic?

Information graphics or infographics are graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge intended to present complex information quickly and clearly. They can improve cognition by utilizing graphics to enhance the human visual system’s ability to see patterns and trends.

There are a wide variety of tools available that allow you to create your own infographic. These free infographic creator tools will allow you to generate an infographic very quickly, without the need for a professional designer, and often in very high quality formats but if you prefer something more familiar to you for starting, you can download this archive with free power point templates.

However, having the tools to make your own infographic is only one piece of the puzzle. Besides being visually attractive, your infographic should be informative and complete from an educational point of view. So, what do you have to do?

Each team will create an infographic about one Renaissance artist. You should offer a good visual explanation about his/her biography (try to add a portrait!) and 2 or 3 masterpieces with an explanation (the title, the “mecenas” or art collector, what does it mean, what is it important for...).

When finish, sent the work as an attached file to blogeducativo08@gmail.com. You can be also asked to give an oral explanation at class (about 4-6 minutes) and remember that ALL the members of the team has to talk. But don’t panic: here are some tips for public speaking.

Here is the list of Renaissance’s artist you can choose from:

Painters: Sofonisba Anguissola and Lavinia Fontana (two women!), Miguel Angel, Leonardo da Vinci, Rafael Sanzio, El Greco, Luis de Morales, Alonso Sánchez Coello, Botticelli, Giotto, Durero, Fra Angelico, Uccello, Filippo Lippi.
Sculptors: Miguel Angel, Donatello, Ghiberti, Vasco de la Zarza, Diego de Siloé, Felipe Vigarny, Alonso de Berruguete, Juan de Juni, Cellini, Jacoppo Della Quercia, Lucca Della Robbia.
Architects: Miguel Angel, Brunelleschi, Bramante, Juan de Herrera, Pedro Machuca, Michelozzo, Alberti.

And here are some links for starting:
·                     Renaissance Art & Artists
·                     Interactive Renaissance
·                     Renaissance Art in History Channel

As usual, this work is mandatory and will be part of the score at the end of the term. If you fail to finish it, do it out of date (10 March), or just copy, the mark will be a 0 for this work.

Good luck! J

2º British: Cultural visit to Córdoba - Creative activities

Are you ready for travelling? I know that the answer is a big "YES!" but also remember that it would be an educative trip so there will be some classwork to do...Ups! But this year, the task will be very easy and even funny because both activities are very creative (and mandatory).

1.- Photo competition: the best historical picture!

During these two days, you will have many opportunities to take really good pictures. Think from an cultural perspective and try to take the most “historical” photo you can.

2.- Micro-stories

Became a micro-novelist and write your own historical story. The story should be written in English and have a maximum of 15 lines (Times New Roman, 12).

As usual, when back at home, send both  activities (your selected photo and your story) as a attached files, to blogeducativo08@gmail.com and, apart from the mark, you will enter into a competition. The deadline will be Sunday, 12 February. Good luck!
